Basic Policy for Handling Personal Information

RELTEC Medical Devices Corporation (hereinafter referred to as “RELTEC”) considers the protection of customers’ personal information to be one of the most important norms that RELTEC must comply with. RELTEC handles personal information acquired by RELTEC in compliance with the Act on the Protection of Personal Information, guidelines and other guidelines concerning the protection of personal information, and other relevant laws and regulations concerning the protection of personal information.

RELTEC is committed to complying with all applicable laws and regulations. RELTEC is also responsible for compliance with this Policy. In the event of any conflict between this Policy and local/regional laws and regulations, local/regional laws and regulations shall be prevailed.

Definition of Personal Information

In this policy, “personal information” means information about a living individual that can be used to identify the specific individual by name, date of birth, or other description contained in the information. Personal information also includes information that can be easily cross-checked with other information to identify a specific individual.

Method of Collecting Personal Information

RELTEC collects users’ personal information in the following ways

Collecting the user’s name, address, e-mail address, and/or phone number from the order screen of our EC site and our corporate site (hereinafter, our EC site and our corporate site are collectively referred to as the “Site”). Note that even if credit card information is entered when ordering products from our EC site, such credit card information will not be collected by us.
  1. In addition to 1. above, when a user registers information to use the functions of the “Site” or via this “Site”, we collect the necessary information to use such functions including name, address, e-mail address, and phone number.

Purpose of Use of Personal Information

RELTEC does not use personal information collected by RELTEC beyond the necessary scope to achieve the following purposes of use, except as stipulated by law or with the consent of the individual concerned.

  1. Operation, maintenance, and management of this “Site”
  2. Purchase and delivery of products (order acceptance and processing, product delivery, and payment processing)
  3. After-sales service, such as repair of purchased products

Measures for Safe Management of Personal Information

RELTEC endeavors to keep personal information accurate and up-to-date, and conducts education and training for all employees and officers to protect it from unauthorized access, falsification, leakage, loss, and damage, and also periodically inspects on-site management.

Joint Use of Personal Information

RELTEC does not share personal information except with the consent of the individual concerned.

Provision of Personal Information to Third Parties

RELTEC does not provide personal information to third parties, except when required by law or when RELTEC has obtained the consent of the individual concerned. In the course of our business, we may outsource all or part of the handling of customers’ personal information to a subcontractor. In such a case, we will entrust the handling of personal information to a subcontractor within the minimum necessary scope to achieve the purpose of use and after concluding an appropriate nondisclosure agreement with the subcontractor, and we will supervise the subcontractor as necessary and appropriate.
