The following is an overview of an animal experiment on the effect of an Electron-Rich condition on survival time in nude mice.

Experiment Design and Housing Conditions

Group C nude mice were housed in a standard housing system. Group R nude mice were housed in an Electron-Rich housing system that added an RE therapeutic device and a negative ion generator to the standard housing conditions of Group C.

Outcomes

Group R was statistically significantly superior to Group C in the following items;

Survival Time

BMR

Body Weight, Food and Water Consumption, and Momentum

Blood and Rectal pH, and Blood Lactic Acid Level

Blood and Erythrocyte Intracellular ORP

The Implications of This Animal Experiment

In this experiment using nude mice, Group R, housed in an Electron-Rich animal housing system, survived 19% longer than Group C, which was housed in a standard animal housing system. Group R had a higher BMR and had a larger momentum per calorie intake. Based on these findings, Group R was considered to have the following characteristics of energy metabolism compared with Group C:

  1. Energy metabolism is highly efficient.
  2. The proportion of anaerobic energy metabolism is low, while the proportion of aerobic energy metabolism is high.

Aerobic energy metabolism is significantly more efficient than anaerobic energy metabolism. On the other hand, it is commonly thought that ROS produced in mitochondria during aerobic energy metabolism induces apoptosis. Therefore, aerobic energy metabolism is not necessarily thought advantageous for aging and longevity. Nevertheless, the survival period of the R group was significantly longer than that of the C group, probably because the R group’s Electron-Rich housing system reduced the amount of ROS in the body, lowering the ORP.
